Our master’s program is a balanced curriculum of health-focused, science-based coursework and rigorous research experience. Our graduate students are an integral part of the research we do in HES. Our faculty research labs focus on several issues related to: maximizing healthspan. prevention and treatment of metabolic disorders.

The exercise science core curriculum integrates key competencies for a degree in exercise science recommended by the American College of Sports Medicine, including a knowledge of exercise physiology and the assessment and development of physical activity and exercise programs for the general and clinical populations. A master's-degree program in exercise science is more academic, requiring prior instruction in biology, chemistry, physiology and psychology. The curriculum could include advanced studies in exercise physiology and address health and wellness issues such as chronic disease or cardiac rehabilitation.
