Troubleshooting a western snow plow
7 posts · Joined 2017. #1 · Nov 5, 2017. I have an older western mark3 with cable controls. I believe the valve is stuck in the up position. I have removed the covers for the 3 and 4 way valves are verified the correct movement. Right now if I jump the solenoid and supply power to the pump the cylinder only raises up.Jan 24, 2013 · if your having issues with your plow,this might helpDrain fluid. Remove battery cables remove two bolts holding the motor to the body. Lift of motor. Remove two bolts holding pump in place and remove pump and filter as a unit. New filter on new pump watch for o-ring on bottom when installing new pump. Now reverse disassemble to reassemble.

I think I got all the air out of the system. Then I switched the hoses on the angle rams. I pulled the stick left, and the plow angled right. I pushed the stick right but the plow did not come back, same as before.The ground that causes the relays to operate comes "from" the plow when you plug the multi pin connect in, if your not then you need to check the wiring from the ground off the motor back into your harness. Are the pumps the same for all these plows.
