Did the 3 finger spin test an it passed.The specifications given are for the typical 350 engine. The Chevrolet 350 cylinder-head torque specification is 65 ft.-lbs. The intake installed onto cast-iron heads requires 30 ft.-lbs. If your engine has aluminum cylinder heads, the threads are more fragile than the cast iron, so the intake specification is 18 ft.-lbs.
You're mixing bolt sizes and wrench sizes. Easy to do. Unless someone has done something you don't know about, you have 3/8 rod bolts and 7/16 mains. A 3/8 bolt normally takes a 9/16 wrench. A 7/16 bolt normally takes a 5/8 wrench. Notice "normally" there are special applications for about all sizes of bolts that may make the wrench size …So what's the SBC 4 bolt main cap torque sequence?
