I have a gallon of evaporust, and I keep 2 quarts in a wide mouth jar (A big plastic pretzel jar). This way I can put larger items in and keep the evaporust from evaporating. Thermorust and evaporust is probably the same stuff. Never had a problem with it. It's a very mild flush that uses sodium citrate which is a weak acid.
