This new co-location of ABRCMS and ASMCUE allows attendees of both conferences to sample content and network with audiences from a different type of conference than they normally attend. The enriching in-person events at ASMCUE will leave educators feeling energized and ready to implement new evidence-based and inclusive teaching practices.I was identified as a travel awardee in October for this conference which allowed me to both travel and stay in Anaheim, paid by the ABRCMS Conference itself. It was a great opportunity and I was so excited to attend. Unlike SACNAS which I attended at the end of October, I actually presented the research I worked on this summer at ABRCMS.The first ABRCMS hosted by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) in 2001, was founded to encourage minority, first-generation, veteran, and disabled students to pursue higher education in STEM.
