Youth mentoring program

The Youth Mentoring Program (YMP) is an innovative project of the 1199SEIU League Labor Management Initiatives, Inc., administered by the 1199SEIU/Employer Child Care Corporation. The program provides a six-week summer employment opportunity for 15- to 17-year-old children of 1199SEIU members at participating hospitals and nursing homes.

Mentors are supportive individuals who build relationships with young people by offering them guidance, support, and encouragement to help cultivate positive and healthy development – many of the same things you do. Mentors are not meant to replace parents, guardians, or teachers, or to play the role of disciplinarians or decision makers.The 5 stages of mentorship.
