Installed Auto-dimming Mirror. As the title says, I installed the auto-dimming mirror in my 1LT Cruze. It works great and I love it. A couple months ago I was wondering how hard it would be, so I did a little research. I found out that my '14 Cruze has all of the wiring, except for the wires in the headliner harness. It even had the fuse in place.

Went inside, cleaning and that's it. I scanned it with an OBD2 scanner and the code P2b9A is there. Cannot erase it (it comes back) and no check engine. So now my cruze is booked in to a Holden (GM) dealership for this Wednesday, 12th May to have the ECU recalibrated/reset to new, and hopefully this will finally fix this issue.

I have been replacing them with a Dorman brand unit from O’Rielly (lifetime warranty, thank goodness). It is a... Common issues on the gen 2 diesel. Well not sure if they are as common as the DEF heater failures on the gen 1, but there have been some EGT and NOx sensor failures. Those have been an occasional issue on both generations. As well as the occasional EGR issue, which has also happened with both gen1 and gen 2.

According to the 2018 Cruze Owners Manual, DEXOS recommends 0W-20 and DEXOS 2 (Diesel) recommends 5W-30 (0W-40 in colder climates during winter).
