For example, if you set the fan to the lowest speed, the controller may provide power for 3/10 of a second every second, while providing power or ground for 7/10 of a second every second ...Because this is a Canadian truck, the BCM is programmed to have the lights on (either DRLs or full) all ALL times when in gear. The resistor trick you're referring to only disabled the auto headlights, based on light level -- doesn't affect the DRLs which will still be on (and on my 2015 I'm pretty sure it's just the full low beams anyway).
