It's safe to use on other games. The game will have a pixelated look in docked mode if you use resolution multipliers other than 1X, 2X, 4X, or 8X and no FSR removal mod. VRAM and gloom issues are fixed on the latest Mainline and Early Access releases, ASTC Recompression (Graphics > Advanced) should enabled on GPUs with 4GB of VRAM or less.
