North Carolina and West Virginia were the first states to release their bar exam results for July 2023. North Carolina's bar exam pass rates were: 69% overall pass rate, 78% for first time takers, and 29% for repeat takers. West Virginia's bar exam pass rates were: 72% overall pass rate, 76% for first time takers, 43% for repeat takers.The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) consists of two 90-minute items. Developed by NCBE, the MPT is administered by user jurisdictions as part of the bar examination on the Tuesday before the last Wednesday in February and July of each year.
