When I tried Helix Native to get right to the sounds easier, I liked the overall sound of the Headrush better. In the last few months I've really become totally uninspired by my Headrush tone. I played around with Amplitube 5 and really enjoyed just a basic Vox tone, some Dr. Z tones, then found the Headrush even less inspiring.Zoom G6 VS Line 6 POD GO (direct comparison) - Guitar Chalk. So it's the red channel with a high-gain tone against a Tonex tone model, a Quad Cortex capture and a Headrush clone. Thanks for the feedback. Looks like both boards offer a variation of the idea. Looks like Headrush calls them "Scenes" where Line6 calls them "Snapshots". From the videos I've watched, however, it looks like Headrush only lets you turn effects on/off with a scene (whereas the Helix lets you adjust parameters).Jul 13, 2020. #3. The Headrush I didn’t care for. The Helix is great and has more accurate models than the Boss. The Boss to me though feels like a real amp and you can dial in what’s there to sound like most amps. I prefer the Boss effects to Line6 too although they are both great. I’m a tube guy for the last 25 years but this Saturday I ...

So I spent a little time recording some clips over the last few days to update the Helix vs AX8 ones I did last time around. I have the Axe 3 and Helix Native but no other modelers to compare. The sounds stay the same between units. As you can see, I've. been putting both through their paces. Right now, I have a Helix LT and a Headrush Gigboard. I just ordered an MX5 before they went up $100 last week.Helix sounds a LOT better. And own an 11R so was pulling for the Headrush. The Helix sounded natural, like a real amp. The Headrush sounded more generic/artificial and obviously higher gain. The higher gain kind of masks its inadequacies.

That said, I put some general advice on choosing a modeler over on this thread . As a Fractal user for many years: the FM3 is an outstanding release. The amps, factory IRS and time-based effects are first class. Drive pedals are now up-to-date the AxeIII. My rationale: There are some effects that the Axe-FX doesn’t have a model for. In my case that’s a Klon-style drive (Tumnus Deluxe) and the TC Electonic Mimiq. I like those effects enough that I’ll keep them outboard.…

The sounds are very good, HeadRush modelling is right up there in my opinion (I came to the MX5 off the back of the Line 6 Helix LT) and with the exception of some of the more intense synth and pitch shift effects, it holds up very well with the best. I am almost certain on the Vox that B is Helix due to the note decay. The other ones I think the Helix lacks a smidge of ...

The amp models on the HX Stomp were significantly better than the MX5. IMHO. In general, the MX5 was a huge disappointment. It gets a lot of stuff right but the amp models being notably inferior was a big problem. If the POD Go sounds as good as the HX, I would take it solely for that reason.I want a FRFR speaker or amplifier for my Helix. If I ever do get to play with a band again then it'll only be small venues so it doesn't have to be loud.
