Here is my iron smelting setup. There are 2 rows of steel furnaces and all the belts are red belts. I have the iron ore entering the loop from the right side. My problem is that the iron ore isn't going very far but at the same time the produced iron plates aren't nearly saturating enough (as you can see in the upper left corner).1 / 1 ratio is ok, but remember that after some time you will probably start bringing ore to smelt in trains and it will make maintaining this ratio rather hard (if not impossible). Once trains are running check whether your smelters are capable of processing all the ore before the next train arrives - if not, add more (or use speed modules). 4.Features. Easily cover a resource patch with miners to connect it to your factory. This planner makes an attempt to create an optimal miner placement layout that doesn't use more miners than necessary, meaning a more steady flow of resources. Landfill is automatically added if entities end up over water tiles.

A lot of people going for "megabase" scale do a centralized smelting area. If you plan on using production modules and speed beacons for smelting ore, it's easier to set that up in one place. And since you usually know how much material you need, you can build the right amount of smelting capacity and then just focus on building mining outposts. This will walk you though how to build a smelting setup in Factorio in under 60 seconds.#Shorts #Factorio #Guide #TipsThe Smelter V3.0. this is my blueprint book for all types of smelting. Introduction. This book contain a set of blueprints for automation of each of all seven science packs. They are intended to be used with main bus bases before you go full beacons + modules. The blueprints are tileable, so you can expand the production according to your needs. Science packs must be transported toward the labs alongside the main bus.In this episode, steel is the focus, and we set up a smelting line to make steel plates. Involving: Belts (balancers, crossings), Inserters, Chests, Furnaces, Assembling Devices ...Interestingly, the output of one iron-smelting furnace is the same as the input required for one steel-smelting furnace. Create a smelting center for iron, put it onto a belt, and feed it into a duplicate smelting center with iron input instead of iron ore. Works great. I would say the first one in the left, that’s what I use personally. Was ...

First, order the first casting, then, after leaving some space, place an exit mat going in the direction of the main bus that you have planned. Leave another tile space, then add the second line of the quartet. The food mat will run outside the oven you just placed.A 33rd furnace will only run ~50% of the time, a 34th furnace will only run ~25% of the time. (Rough numbers: with 2 speed 2 modules you're running 2 / 3.5 * 1.6 = 0.91 plate / sec / furnace. So your 32 furnaces push out ~29.3 plates / second. A fully-compressed blue belt can transport ~40.2 items / sec.…

72 electric or steel furnaces should fill a blue belt. With beacons and modules, for iron, copper, and stone bricks you're looking at I think 9 electric furnaces for a fully beaconed smelting array. Read the FAQ about beacons and make sure you set the recipe correctly in the settings. But to answer you directly: without modules you will need 72 ...Smelting setup Circuit-free solutions of basic factory-design to achieve optimal item-throughput. Involving: Belts (balancers, crossings), Inserters, Chests, Furnaces, Assembling Devices ...When you first start prod+beacon the smelting, you likely won't have enough ore on any one site to justify a large enough number of smelters, so offsite is better because it let you put the modules to better use. As the mining productivity soars, onsite wins again because every patch now produces enough ore to justify a very large smelting setup.

You could probably handle the input into the smelter with a division combinator to avoid problems if the stack size is less than the amount of raw materials. Output the smart chest signal to a division combinator, divide by the number of raw materials required, then output signal to the smart inserter. I'm assuming the division combinator only ...it's a fairly simple equation for stone and steel furnaces: belt speed x craft time = total craft rate need / craft rate per furnace = number of furnaces needed. or in this case: 13.386X3.5 = 46.851/1 = 46.851 assemblers needed. round up to the nearest even number to get 48 assemblers needed. 4.FACTORIO 0.15v ______________________________________________________ Hay everyone today …

Standard K2 smelting is 2 ore -> 1 plate. Enriched is 1 ore -> 1 plate. Enrichment gives a bit more 50% ore, so in total you need less ore to make more plate. The other important fact is that smelting enriched ores is 1:1, while the basic recipe is 2:1. This means you have better utilization of your belts. For this setup it's just personal preference, but why not. You need some sort of electric power drain to justify that large nuclear plant. If I wanted to build a megabase that is going to be UPS limited, then I'd want solar power (more UPS friendly than nuclear) and a bot based beaconed + moduled smelting/production setup (again more UPS friendly).
