Sometimes you have to but it's really expensive. If you do do it only put it on half the belt. 4 piercing ammo on a belt is 20 copper, 16 iron, 4 steel. Or 56 ore. That you smelted and paid a lot of pollution for. So don't spend 112 ore on each belt, and only use half the damn belt!if you realy want only to speed run it just push the stats for the Resources to the sky. This is what i did, just maxed out the resources except for uranium and then had a look through seeds for one where the oil didn't spawn a million miles away. After searching I'm sure hundreds of seeds I've come across what I would consider my favorite map so far. The seed is 343525. And the only parameter difference is water is set to 200% scale and 600% coverage. It's a decent sized starting peninsula with all six resources at the start.
