The first gens has a 3/4 engine shaft so a torque converter will bolt right on but later ones have a 3/8 so you need and adapter. The shaft on the newer ones is 5/8 inch. If you want EVEN more top speed, take out the governor entirely (takes maybe 15-30 min. at most!), put in a billet flywheel, billet rod, and 18lb valve springs, as well as stage one mods.Those engines do not have an oil sensor.
