The other downside is just Canik in general, and that's aftermarket options. You simply won't find as many people making parts and accessories for Canik as you will for Glock, M&P, Sigs, and others. The counter argument is that aftermarket isn't as big a concern for Caniks since they already have good triggers and sights out of the box. Since Canik is known for copying Walther, this isn't surprising. Inside barrel after first cleaning - Only a couple minor tooling marks which shouldn't impact accuracy for typical pistol distances. Before shooting it, I examined the barrel with my borescope and discovered it has some minor tooling marks, but it cleans up nice.
Some Caniks may stove pipe spent casing of 115 gr ammo until the recoil spring is broken in. My new Rival cycled fine with 115 gr the first day I shot it at the range so it required no breaking in. Equally reliable, better trigger, feels better in my hand. The Glock has better sights and is easier to find holsters and other accessories for. (Although Canik is becoming better supported in the aftermarket.)
