Departmental Requirements Single Major in Foreign Languages with a Concentration in Spanish. Students must complete all University degree requirements, which include: General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits to total at least 120 credits with 48 credits in courses numbered 300 or above. Our program offers majors and minors in both Spanish and Spanish Teaching. We offer courses at all levels in the language, linguistics, literatures and cultures of Spain and Latin America. Most of our undergraduate courses are capped at or below 28 students, giving our students more personal attention than possible at other large universities. Our major allows students to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and its cultures and literatures. The degree prepares students for careers in education, media, the economy, the government, the nonprofit sector and international work.
