Aug 7, 2020 · Those would need larger city-blocks in smelting section - ~120 tiles and ~200 tiles respectively. Make sure to actually design your train system before you take those numbers for granted though :) In my previous non-city block 2k SPM megabase I used 11-16-0 trains for ore, 5-8-0 for plates, coal and oil, 3-4-0 for everything else. The building space was enough for most uses, but it felt like I had to split up a few too many blocks that were slightly too big, and the ratio of tracks to factory was a bit high for my liking. 8x8 might be just enough, but I'd still say more like 10x10 or 11x11 would be better. Pick a train size. A train should be able to fit on each side of the block (after stations.) Since space sciences don't require a lot of science packs or resources in general, I use 1-1 trains. ZavodZ • 3 yr. ago. Thanks.I tried city blocks for 300-400 hours. It can cause congestion really fast when expanding. I read a F4 some time ago and diagonal rails should be worse for UPS than the others. So city blocks? On my current megabase I don’t use city blocks or hexagon. I planned my base so I don’t have too many rail section crossing each other.r/factorio •. by BigDaveNz1. In the Top 1% of largest communities on Reddit. Hi all, I'm looking for inspiration on cityblocks, the weird, the wacky, the strange. Octogons, Hexagons, Squares, Circles, 50x50, 100x100 anything goes, what are your favourite cityblock designs? I just finished a K2 playthrough and used cityblocks for the first ...I build out as many blocks to the walls (city blocks implies that all the blocks are connected and is one gigantic network), and then add roboports going from the edge of the blocks to connect to the ones on the walls. So for every block I'll have a line of roboports going to the walls. The city block creation in K2 doesn't seem different than in vanilla to me. I'm not an expert, but I firstly made chunk-aligned rail blueprint book (straight and 3-way intersection, my hexagons don't need 4-way). Since the maximum distance between poles is one chunk, they are easily rotatable. My design is simple, a highway surrounding 3x3 cells for the longer traffic. A penalty station at the entry and exit onto the 3x3 cells to prevent trains using it as a shortcut. Now I need a good place for my LTN depots. I use the design underneath which worked fine in the beginning of the world when it wasn't in blocks yet.looking for blueprints or suggestions for rail city blocks as I am trying to start a playthrough using modular rail city blocks. Instead design in mind with up to 1-2 belt of items in/out per chunk of city block length. So let say 4x4 chunk city block would use 4 to 8 belts in or 4 to belts out 8. This way you can rate your trains to be about 1-2 belt per wagon per min. But how you want to process your blocks is up to you. May 21, 2021 · Iirc, 2-4 is better than 1-4 in terms of acceleration, not sure how max speed works. Acceleration is the important number; trains blocking one another are what cause traffic, which at worst will spiral towards deadlock ( higher accel = faster recovery = less chance to block another car). Each block has to be somewhat unique, like for things with byproducts versus just an animal to make. Take for example, the coke block, it turns raw coal into coke, the primary output. I have 2, or technically 3. One makes over a GW of power, using the coke oven gas recipe, with outputs of ash, stone, and bricks, coal dust and coke itself.

A very simple to use set of blueprints to make a rail network using t So far, I have a modded spaghetti base where most of the science materials are hand-fed. I'm looking to have my more permanent base be a city block design. I was thinking either 3x3 or 6x6 chunk blocks. My main question is whether to go for a 2-lane (1 per direction) or 4-lane (2 per direction) rail network.Chunk-aligned rails are easily alignable to the world center (0,0). In order to be chunk-aligned, everything must be in a multiple of 32 blocks, which may or may not always be the most convenient size. But with blueprint grids, you don't have to worry about this! You can place one block, blueprint it, and make a grid. Go to factorio r/factorio • ... City block blueprints aHave a 4 lane stacker, 2 long each. The intention is for each city block to have one input train and one output train per block. The input train will have filtered cargo slots and a route to gather up the inputs required to supply a city block. The output stations will all supply a single component. Mar 18, 2021 · In this Factorio Base Tour episode we look at Z If you want to build for 1-4 trains or larger you'll want larger blocks. 1-8-1 megabse trains work nicely with 100x400 "blocks" with one 100x100 block for main rails/intersections, then a block of stacking, a block of unloading and loading then 1 100x100 block of beaconed build. 2.
